Because I'm on to something what I've found very unusual.
Apparently Nintendo has (for whatever reason) installed two different display types in New 3DS XL.
Once a TN and once an IPS display and I had at home a direct comparison I must say, the difference is huge!
I had 3 devices and also in terms of processing, there were big differences.
Device 1: New 3DS XL Monster Hunter 4 Edition:
- No wobbly display
- No cracking hinge
- No Defects
- Display Type IPS, rich colors and even if you look at an angle to the screen wash not from the colors
- 3D effect is very stable
Unit 2: New 3DS XL Zelda Edition:
- Extremely shaky display
- Very loud creaking hinge
- Display poorly sealed. At the edges of the light shining through
- Display Type TN, pale colors and also when you look at an angle to the screen wash the color off immediately
- 3D effect unstable
I am then so in the MM, where I bought the 3DS.
The seller was surprised when he unwrapped a blue unit and this had an IPS display.
My records were transferred to the blue DS Out of fairness, and I was allowed to keep even the Majora's Mask game.
Was yes to the account already bound.
I separated from the Zelda Edition heavy heart but the display was just cruel bad.
The unit I had previously been submitted to Nintendo as it had hung over again.
Then Nintendo had replaced it and this one is now apparently with old display.
Who does not have the direct comparison remembers sure which display type is not immediately installed.
There are already on the English pages to reports.
Apparently the like lottery and no one knows in advance which display has been installed. IPS is but clearly the better choice.
The demo in MM also had a TN display ... But I wanted then not require having to unpack other devices.
My email to Nintendo is still unanswered for almost a week ...
Your experiences I would be interested once.
To have installed two different displays due to the many differences in quality and the insolence of Nintendo without notice, unfortunately, I can only give 3 stars. (Actually, I tend more to still 2)
