Makita cordless drill DF330DWE 10.8V, 1.3Ah (tool)

Customer Review

So much time in front: I am a layman and not working every day with power tools. Also cheaper devices would Realistically enough for my purposes, but quality and well thought-out to make me at work more fun along the lines of work and play (which in my opinion anyway the real message behind Metabo slogan Work. Dont play is).
The suitability for commercial purposes gives this comparison so only limited information.

We compared the following offers:
BOSCH GSR 10,8-2-Li L-Boxx 0,601,868,102 for 130 ~
MAKITA DF330DWE Li-Ion 10.8 V (EAN 88381097314) for ~ 130

### POWER ###
Both the GSR 10.8 and the DF330 are fed up with power !!! Nominally, the Bosch machine has a slightly stronger torque than the Makita (30 Nm to 24 Nm), but what to think exactly of such values, I do not know: this was achieved, the development context (measurement conditions, etc.) in very rare cases are identical and are therefore difficult to compare. I have certainly had the feeling when neither of the machines that they were too weak in the chest or that between them existed significant differences in performance.
In terms of battery life, no major differences are struck me (I was not next to it with a stopwatch and have no countersunk screws I counted've focused on my project :-). By two batteries I was able with two machines to work continuously.

### PROCESSING ###
The housing of both machines are absolutely top! Robust, handy, reassuring. Both give you the feeling of having done right when buying everything (not without reason, the internet forums full of proud Bosch / Makita-owners). Both are made for hard and long-term cooperation. In any case, flagship screwdriver!

What, however, has irritated me at two, the game of the drill chuck is a problem they seem to have in common with almost all compact screwdrivers: Whether Bosch, Makita, Hitachi, Metabo, Einhell, idrill all had taken hold of me torque wrenches of the 10-volt class such a sideways play in the chuck. It was not at all the same serious, but at all noticeable. Most noticeable however, it was just with the Makita! Especially since not only a sideways game, but also one along the axis (front / back) was recorded. That made me but then surprise! It must be said in fairness that has not really made a negative impact when screw this game. Also the drill wobbled (probably because the drill was new and not bent) with me not. But the massive game in the chuck so will not fit the otherwise solid and confidence-inspiring handling of Makita (perhaps a Monday device? Few reviewers complain of too much play the chuck).
The GSR 10.8 has, as I said, easy game, but only sideways and not nearly as strong as the Makita. Really made a negative impact has it even here. But with regard to the chuck of the GSR acts against the Makita robust and reliable.

### ### ERGONOMICS
The GSR 10.8 is a smaller, more compact powerhouse. He is about 2 cm shorter than the DF330 and it shows! Well, if you have to work in confined spaces. But he is much wider than the Makita, it seems almost a bit clunky. The handle has an acceptable diameter. However, the device feels a bit top-heavy, because the hand is compared to the Makita farther away from the engine and transmission (the most difficult parts of the screwdriver). To my mind, the balance is not perfect here.

The DF330 is great in the hand and is great balanced. The grip is noticeably slimmer and keep comfortable for me in the long run. The Makita has a good size and looks almost elegant whether slim cabinet. In terms of ergonomics, the engineers of Makita have hit the jackpot here!
The only downside: This design forces you to the lamp very close to place below the chuck, whereby the chuck illuminated and the drilling is not optimally illuminated. Bosch achieved a slightly better illumination here. Really annoying but I never found the.

### ACCESSORIES ###
The GSR 10.8 I have received together with the L-Boxx. The box is very robust, but slightly oversized for the GSR 10.8. This is intentional, because it is principally used as a system box for different applications and multiple devices. The thinner inlays are a matter of taste, but ok. The wrench comes with a holster, which is extremely helpful when you stand on a ladder and degrees do not know what to do with the screwdriver (but whose safety tab is too short I've sewn it dimensioned and now the button goes to :-)

The DF330 comes in a likewise very robust, high-quality box that is designed just for its size (and correspondingly more manageable than the L-Boxx from Bosch). It comes along with a compared to Bosch perfectly fitting holster. Practical and high quality is also provided Bit box in the Makita, you can fill in as needed with their own bits, screws etc.. Good thought along!

### SPECIAL ###
The GSR 10.8 comes with battery indicator. very convenient!

The lights on the DF330 lit even after drilling continues for a moment. Used to, but in practice quite helpful.

### (MY CONCLUSION ###
Both devices are very successful in their own way. The ergonomics of Makita is not topen. Visually, I find it beautiful (if that is a criterion at all :-). However, the me wobbly chuck has so disturbed that I have returned it. The GSR acts much more robust at this point. Details such as the battery indicator I find good job. This comparison has arisen because I've worried to replace the blue Makita Bosch. When I stayed, even if I sometimes miss the ergonomics of Makita.

*** THE COMPETITORS ***
... At least by me (other) tested in the price range 100-150.

Metabo Powermaxx 12: Good workmanship. I found him in person too bulky and unwieldy (thickest handle in the field). The screwed (!) Drill chuck can be at left-turns insufficient lock. What is sold here as a feature, is for me a bug, because you have fixed upon release screws often only remove the chuck in order to then work with the Allen-use can continue.

Hitachi DS 10 DFL: Very handy and easy, Favourable price. Nominally highest torque (34nm), unless you put such information on value (see above). Gear changes very hakelig. From the processing well, but maybe a little bit less than the other candidates wertig. The included case acts as With Cheap screwdrivers. Overall, not quite my taste.
