The often made in other reviews compared to "The Big Bang Theory" in my opinion is misplaced, too different are the contents. What so already beginning that "betas" a real plotline has while BBT is largely incoherent. And while at BBT four Vollnerds at the start are the characters in "betas" are much different, sometimes extreme.
In essence, it is about a young development team that dreams to develop a social media app. In Accelerator you have to compete for the big breakthrough with other start-ups. The viewer accompanies the team on the road to success and learns a lot about the hard road of tech startups - albeit in a sometimes quite wacky way.
The first - and perhaps unfortunately last - episode ends with a supposed success, while leaving the exciting question of "what's next" open. And where a second season would satisfy the curiosity, just a big empty hole gapes because Amazon has apparently decided to let just follow no second season.
A great pity, because although the series - to a rather strange guest appearance - requires no well-known actors, it does not look cheap, partly wonderfully overexcited and over again captivating. It is hoped, fears and, unfortunately, with the team.
I would have liked more of it ...
