I have ordered the Aspire One D270 netbook with 2GB RAM on Amazon. The whole feel of the relative little engine is well suited to surfing means quite faster Internet applications (N-Draft wireless LAN or LAN cable). For this, the little one is also quite flexible and truly portable due to its low weight of 1.3 kg. (A protective carrying case is not included.) The capacity of the battery holds depending on application and weather around 6 hour uninspiring but adequate. Simple office applications are quite feasible. This, however, with the restriction that the key assignment is strictly limited by the construction and you quickly accidentally wrong keys touched, then what ever results in the loss of just begun Word application The Anfass-quality glossy plastic surface of the lid should always lead to more frustration, because after opening the Aspire One remain in the port there spots. Here I would have liked a user-friendly interface. However, the 10,1' TFT screen makes this flaw more than offset because it (advertising appeal) was not designed high-gloss and thus can also be used outdoors. The installed Linpus Linux for me is not usable in my opinion. I've replaced by Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit via external DVD-feeding device. A loading of the new operating system with specially formatted USB flash drive failed unfortunately. Windows 7 runs smoothly thanks to the Intel Atom processor and 2600 by the integrated RAM of 2GB. All required drivers for Windows 7 are available on the site of Acer for download. Attention: three different wireless network drivers are also provided for the system. Whoever takes the trouble and time lookups on the bottom of the netbook is small and hidden reference to 'Broadcom' get. Be sure to download so for the wireless network and install this driver. Conclusion: Basically, I can assess the handling of the Aspire One D270 with good. The performance data are up to date. The unit is beautifully quiet in operation, noise fan. Windows 7 32bit runs smoothly for me. For graphics-intensive games, it was of course not created. Bluetooth 4.0 is part of the device as well as a webcam and microphone. Unfortunately, a detailed manual than the supplied Quick Start Guide is missing as well as a restoration of the operating system media. Also negative: On permanent display of the netbook hard disk activity is missing. Opening the device eg to replace the memory (max. 2GB- 1Bank) or SATA hard drive in eg a faster solid state disk (SSD) is rather difficult to name and is often accompanied by scratches on the netbook. Meanwhile, there are for (video) instructions on the net. With demonstrable opening the device during the warranty period of 12 months the guarantee could be forfeited! One more (well-intentioned) Note: Although worth the purchase of the usual fast-delivered by Amazon Aspire One netbooks D270- the bottom line for me, could EDP layman via USB drives need help with a clean install of Windows or Linux. Here indeed worth an external DVD / CD-setter in the acquisition.
