I always had a keen interest in the matter of Compostela, hiking in general. I also always enjoyed oeuvre by Rufin. So I was very surprised to find our Academician here with his "mochila" (pilgrim bag) on the Ways of Santiago. And very pleasantly surprised by this very personal story. He shows himself with his muddy shoes with mud in its bare face and more human, away from the pomp of Diplomacy and the Academy. The story is very balanced and clever: a reflection on the way, what drives Jacquets to get under way, historical explanations, personal anecdotes. Reading this book is really nice but easy. We recognize the Rufin style with perhaps a little more counting. Immortelle hiking or how the route of a return to basics.
