TOP headset with fair price / performance ratio

I have not bought this headset via Amazon.com because I was a bit too late and it was sold out. I had, however, to get the headset for the price of 96 from another dealer luck. I bought this headset to play in peace PS4 if my girlfriend wants to have peace. Another reason was that I at all do not like the included mono headset the PS4.

This is not my first headset, I had different headsets for the PC, which, however, were all Wired, besides, I've worked as a DJ with different high-quality headphones, I can so I guess evaluate very good as the sound is.

When I opened the package I found a Sony / Playstation typical packaging, nothing dolles but adequate. In addition to the headset itself be a charging cable (Micro USB, 10cm), a jack cable (for connection to your smartphone, tablet, iPod, etc), the USB receiver, a pocket for the headset as well as instructions (multilingual) on.

The headset gave me a really high-quality impression, although it is made of plastic. The joints do not look as if they would easily break down, however, the need to show the time. Before first use I have the headset connected to the first shop on the PS4, but via the controller charging cable, which works the same as the supplied cable. The first charge was complete in about 1.5 hours. Then I have the USB receiver installed on the PS4 and turned on the headset, which has been recognized then immediately from the PS4 and fully connected after a few seconds was (blue LED on the receiver glows steady blue). So plug and play as expected reliable. By holding down the PS button on the controller can be adjusted in the menu if the headset is to be used either just for chat audio or for the entire audio output, so I have the entire audio output through headset set and came away sound from the headset (Menu Music ).

Comfort:
The headset has a very good comfort, mainly because it is very light. you can adjust the earpieces tailored to their needs, so that the headset fits perfectly. The ear cups are soft, do not press on the ears and seal very well. The bracket is after prolonged wearing not unpleasant (that was the biggest problem with my previous headset been).

Operation:
You can adjust all important features directly via keys on the left ear:
- Button for activating / deactivating of VSS,
Buttons adjust the overall volume -
Adjust buttons to adjust the balance of sound and Game Chat -
- Button to mute the microphone
- On / off switch with 3 positions (Off, On, Sound mode)

It will also provide feedback on the screen when you adjust something.

Sound:
The sound surprised me really positive with a headset in this price range, mind you even wireless. Both in music and in movies, the sound comes across very clean and overdriven even at the highest volume level does not, TOP! Of course, the sound can not keep up with the professional audio headphones of Technics, Sennheiser, etc. I did, however, also never expected at the price. What I do as well as many other reviewers feel is that the sound quality of VSS enabled felt ceases, and even acts partly somewhat tinny. In normal stereo output of the tone is very good though and balanced. The various sound modes which can be activated via the headset Companion app make sense and work well. I am already excited about how this affects in particular sound modes for future games like Infamous SencondSon.

VSS:
As already mentioned, the sound at VSS enabled lose noticeable quality and depth. For the Virtual Surround works amazingly well, especially in Battlefield I can very well see from which direction is which noise, what the gameplay significantly raises. Even with BluRays works quite well, in which the sound is to me personally but more importantly, so I watch movies rather without VSS.

Microphone:
At first I was very skeptical because of the built-in microphone (no arm), because I've heard so far hardly good built-in mics. This fear has fortunately not been confirmed, I am understood by my teammates clearly and it has no one complained about the quality. As I have, however, behaves in louder background noise not yet been tested.

Operation via jack:
I have the headset for testing times on my iPhone 5S connected, there it works flawlessly and again delivers a clean sound.

Operating the PC has not been tested!

CONCLUSION
I am very happy with the headset, it met my expectations and even exceeded. Strong buy recommendation!
