Probably the most important information for all Linux users: Works out-of-the-box, without that one. Any drivers or similar must install I only had to adjust the audio settings to see that the external device is also used and the profile to "Analog Stereo Duplex" filters (tested under Kubuntu 14:04). Everything went right through the normal system settings.
As for sound quality, I'm not an expert and prefer to refer to the other reviews. But I had the impression that it sounds better with the UCA-222, as with the onboard sound previously used.
