I like:
- The price (let's face it, this is the first determining factor)
- Its constant openness
- Its regular dive (a little soft wide open but when f / 4 it stings very well up to f / 11)
- Its compact size but not ridiculous: not too emcombrant
- His correct weight: for a 17-50 f / 2.8 constant is very reasonable
- The zoom ring, not too soft nor too hard: the lens does not unscrew accidentally
I do not like:
- MAP her ring: too thin, short and soft for my taste, making it difficult manual MAP
- The manufacturing quality Tamron: the filter holder moves by itself while the goal has never received shock. This is apparently a common problem of this model, which can however be resolved by removing the circular cache after screwing objo and three small screws unscrew themselves. It sucks a little, that.
But to refocus on the images, I have not photographed sights but real life, and impossible to differentiate between the nikkor and tamron. However, the wallet will see it!
The only reason I am separated? Format change. It is not suitable for full-size boxes (FF / FX). If you hesitate, go for it. It's worth it, really.
NB: many forums back of worries of front focus or back focus, too, if you have any doubt on receipt of yours, do not hesitate to get it replaced.
