So visually there is nothing wrong, I have ordered the shoe in gray and am also very satisfied. In fact, the shoe is very light. Whether the sole for a trekking shoe is too hard / stiff I can not judge, as I said, I have no comparison. What the eyes As I am a similar view as quite a few other posters here, with regular on -and- the lacing laces, also the supplied spare pair will soon come to an end. Therefore, I have set before the shoe-and made a not at fixed lacing "schlüpffähig". So I now protect the laces and if I do come across difficult terrain I can lace the shoe on the loop a little harder.
Now to the point of the shoe to the most "bothering" me. In my view, give the sides sewn (Art) leather trim too much, in other words they are too soft (?) And keep in my case, the foot is not in the "track" .When running swims the front foot area (Bale and toes) in the shoe back and forth. I do not think that the front portion (shaft?) As such is too wide, it is already on the side of stability. I have worn trekking socks from Falke and the thicker Falke socks in the shoe, although breaks of walking out. I'm going again to buy a pair of insoles, probably "swim" then I no longer so in the shoe back and forth but the sidewalls I feel not yet stable enough in order really to go on for several hours or even several days trekking tour.
From me at this point, unfortunately, only 3 stars.
Water-repellent, they appear to be. Lately, it has been raining a lot here and often. I live in a flood prone area. Even when I accidentally stepped into a deeper puddle (shoe was up to the eyes in the water), the shoe has been proven. All in all, certainly not a model but with the one must be unhappy I personally will keep an eye out for my several days trekking again for another shoe.
Update after about 10 times carry:
Due to the problems already mentioned above, I have not often attracted the shoe. Usually only the last training ride with the dog or to purchase park 10 minutes away. The last time I had with a little walk about 100m walk through a meadow that was wet from the morning dew, the shoes were completely durchgenässt after about 20m, as the socks and ergo my feet, while I had the impression that the moisture first from below came .... so I can not contribute morning on meadows, they advise;))
