We follow the story of Louis Paugham. Any young his parents were slaughtered by black escapees, it is collected by a character who will give him his name and who spends his time in southern slavery was extolling the virtues of abolitionism. He is forced to engage and finds himself in a prison which houses the northerners prisoners. Louis will have to respect the deadline, a line where prisoners are killed as soon as they cross. The advance of northerners will do that Louis should be part of a squad that takes the northerners prisoners far from the front. The presence of a black prisoner amid the northerners will influence his whole life.

It's an album of rare subtlety, where intelligence and finesse characterizes the characters and situations. The violence also will be present and we often meet again the deadline for many occasions. While the Civil War was illustrated by Blueberry with talent, but this album has the merit of being a one-shot everything the nugget. The only regret we can have are the colors. There are so many facets in this album that has everything from diamond and in addition it is so full of subtleties that will not leave you neutral.
