Sixth album from electro group which, for ten years, manages to retain the landscape of electronic music a melodic and elegant line that does not forget the need to join in its colors and the imprint of a musical soul - of build songs. Apart from its anchorage in a typical English pop heritage, the group, unmistakable by the grace of the angelic vocals of Alexis Taylor, knows the art and vary its effects. On this new album, sounds fold to a more American-style: a touch of funk (Easy to get), a keyboard reminiscent of that of Stevie Wonder (Started right), flights of fancy discreetly tinted West Coast 1970 ( Dark knight). Still, this is by returning to the strengths that the band delivers its best compositions: the heady Huarache Lights, which reminded me of the best moments of Orbital, and the wonderful Need you now, the very house colorations. Full album an EP of 4 songs from the same session and a level much lower. As with previous albums, some weak tracks saddled a little general appreciation (especially since the album concludes with a very pompous Why make sense?): It is not necessarily an album Hot Chip group (they are very good on stage however). In the balance sheet, a good album, a disappointing nothing compared to the prior year, their masterpiece so far: "In our heads" (2012)
