When Sonos Playbar but I have always waited for since the Playbar not a DTS can and with prices between 650 and 700 euros is not exactly cheap.
How now mid January 2014 officially confirmed Sonos waived DTS support in Playbar.
The reason for this is that TV anyway no DTS can or television broadcasts in Dolby Digital (AC3) are broadcast and the Playbar was designed to enhance "TV sound".
From my perspective, the Playbar is over developed with this statement to our customers and would actually be sold at a loss with immediate effect for 200 euros. The cheapest Playbar's other manufacturers have a dedicated subwoofer and a remote control it and sometimes cost well below 500 euros, it can then DTS (eg Sony, Samsung, etc.).
Think that at Sonos that Playbar, a sub and 2 Play one: 3 for together about 2000 euros is the living room (for ARD, ZDF etc. 5.1 sound), and then for BluRay's with DTS sound a second system have to must.
Conclusion:
======
Maybe I'm not the target audience for the Playbar because what one imagines at Sonos, is that the music and home theater friend for "full" movie and music enjoyment needs 2 systems.
Instead of Playbar you can already buy a complete Teufel System ...
