Devil Survivor: 1.5

After almost a year-and-a half after its release in the US, here finally, in our latitudes, Devil Survivor Overclocked: the remake of a game, praised by critics and audiences, released on the Nintendo DSi in Japan and the United States there are some years.

We are in Tokyo at the end of summer vacation. You and your two high school classmates are invited to stroll in Shibuya Naoya your cousin, a computer genius. It asks you a rabbit as often, but this time, he says you COMPS, strange devices which apparently can summon demons and foretell the future.

Believing a bad joke on his part, you realize quickly that it is not so and that Tokyo is now cut off from the world, full of demons and he'll have to survive. Especially since you have only seven days to you before the end of the world.

Resulting from the already very rich universe of Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked is a tactical RPG game (Tactical RPG) in which your champions will have to meet specific conditions for a victory. And yes, rushing headlong will bring you nothing, if not a crushing defeat, only careful planning will allow you to triumph: to you to equip your hero accordingly.

Depending on your choices, preferences, decisions, the game scenario will change: You can change or not the fate of some protagonists and thus the web. To you to fight on the side of the demons, angels, humans or try to escape.

Incredibly rich and addictive despite minimalist graphics for the 3DS, this RPG stands out as a crucial game in a toy library.

The novice discovers a difficult game, and taking long (fortunately he can choose an easy fix, absent from the first version).

Failing to see beautiful graphics, the music is absolutely beautiful as the remarkable dubbing done for the 3DS output.

The experienced player, that is to say one that had already played his version DSI, discover new skills, new demons and especially to create a new episode: the eighth day.

This game features, however some defects:

-despite The dubbing, the new daemon and the Eighth Day, we can not say that programmers have really sought to exploit the capabilities of the 3DS. This is damaging. Note indeed that the decorations are beautiful but there is nothing memorable, though, let us say, in an RPG, visual beauty is not the point.

- From here arises a new question: the owners of the previous version did they interest in acquiring it? My answer is that this version is really intended for diehard fans, the presence of bonus is only there to reward them. Those who enjoy moderately this universe and who played ISD Version therefore spend their way without sadness. Fans, themselves, will rush it would do for the Eighth Day.

-The Game still does not benefit from subtitling in French: the non-English reader will next to many things, as the dialogues are rich.

- Finally, the game in its European version has an extremely annoying bug: on the battlefield if you try to invoke a demon of your reservation, the game crashes. This is not the case in the US or Japanese versions! You will have to forget that this command remains dispensable if you knew you prepare beforehand.

In short, if you like the demanding and complex RPG and you have a good level of English, Devil Summoner Overclocked is a game that you must have.
