Metro 2033 was for me a very good "spin-off" by developing a close universe, more scripted but always demanding and survivalist.
When Last Light is out, I expect a continuation of the same kind and after a few hours of play I had to go to the evidence that in 2033 he was superior in every way. Last Light plunges us into even more atmosphere, more straight (even Ranger), the fights are disjointed, highly uncertain and highly dependent on this bad AI. The scenario is just passable. There are no longer fear to move alone in the metro armed only with an old gun and 10 bullets rotten that we carefully guard. This feeling was yet the magic of the first.
The art direction is however still good and sometimes saves the game in its mediocrity. It will thus find bluffing passages (syndrome of gaming postcard) but the gameplay ended up breaking all dumping and I finally totally disinterested scenario and environment in its latest quarter.
