Since I did not find anything about it on the internet, what is going on with this new version to be here briefly the differences from the old version:
- The CDs have a new design
- The start screen during installation has been redesigned, new design, higher resolution
- Installation is now much faster. Previously you had to Install CD Play CD, Video-CD, Install CD Insert to Diablo II to install and then again to install expansion CD Play CD, Video-CD to iodine. Very nerfig then been.
Now you need only Install CD Play CD, Video-CD, CD-expansion to install both.
- The installation time (regardless of the CD change) was accelerated
- The graphics test after the installation has ceased, in which there was every now and then to crash in some or has partially lasted quite long.
- The game is now fully supported by Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Some users came in newer systems to problems, so that the game in compatibility mode of Windows had to be started.
- There is now a new key format. Thus, it is not possible to install the game with the new version and still use his old Keys.
- If the game is installed, it is already patched to 1.12 and requires from the outset no CD in the drive.
All contents in the game remained the same, so that it otherwise does not come to an advantage if you have the new version.
I have now tested the game for several hours on Windows 7. So far no problems or crashes have occurred, seems to be a stable version.
As a Diablo fan of the very first hour I can recommend if you like nostalgia the game definitely. Of course, the graphics and some rather awkward to use features with today's games can not keep up, but the story and the game system convince apparently still plenty of players, so there will not be bored in BattleNet. A beautiful job until the release of Diablo. 3
