The lamp is powered by an AA battery Mingnon and can also be operated according to the manufacturer without any problems with an AA Ni-MH battery (my recommendation would be there for example. The Sanyo eneloop Mignon AAReadytoUse NI-MH battery HR 3UTGB-4BP (1900 mAh, 4-pack), with whom I have already made exclusively good experiences in my Fenix- and Zebralight flashlights years).
The flashlight has a total of 4 lighting levels, which are served exclusively through the rubberized end cap click switch (there is no other switch on this lamp). This switch can not only continuous light, but also the moment light are generated.
Unfortunately, the Entkappenschalter extends back approximately 1 mm beyond the housing, so that one can indeed very well operated with gloves the lamp, putting down the lamp (like a candle) on a smooth surface but only relatively shaky possible (the switch Although curved straight and not outwards, but the lamp is on the switch somehow not very sure).
Back where the housing terminates at the counter, there is a small hole where you can attach the supplied strap on request. Unfortunately, that's as close to the switch that one here has really fumble and it is by no means possible, alternatively attach a keyring reasonable, because this would (if you ever secured him from Received would) certainly enable in your pocket the lamp unintentionally and sooner or later determined by scrub and the rubberized switch. A similar problem have the slightly larger sister lamps unfortunately (Fenix LD12 LED Flashlight 125 lumens (XP-G2) and Fenix LD22 LED Flashlight 215 lumens (XP-G2)). A shame because with the Fenix LD10 R5 Premium Q5 XR-E LED Flashlight (3W) at that time everything went black quite outstanding.
The wreath, which is attached to the LED head around, looks like a hex bolt and is intended to prevent lamp from rolling away when it is on the side (see yourselves Simply look at the pictures on the Fenix website to, you know what I mean).
All in all, the LD09 the somewhat slimmer, slightly simpler and cheaper by around 20 Euro version of the above LD10 or LD12 why but by their slimmer design and all attachments (diffuser, red light filter, etc.) for LD10 / 12/20 / 22 unfortunately do not fit on the LD09.
Scope of supply:
Lamp, small nylon holster, small strap, pocket clip (the quite firmly and securely seated, but it is can also be done), one AA battery (Mingnon), Spare O-ring (sealing ring), blister packaging and a brief description.
Length of the lamp: 92mm (for the keychain m E. according to size, but fits perfectly in the small Grosch pocket of jeans etc.)
Diameter: 19mm
Weight: 33 grams (without battery)
Housing: Very sturdy aluminum, hard-anodized surface
Waterproof acc. IPX 8 (Means if I remember correctly: Keeps permanent submersion safely out in water to a depth of about 2 meters). It is my experience underwater course, continue to operate.
LED: Cree XP-E2 LED (indicated with 50,000 hours service life, max intensity 2,250 cd, with a relatively dominant hotspot, the lamp delivers not necessarily a short, wide floodlight, but a long, relatively intense cold white. beam (up to 95 meters))
The lamp is controlled digitally maintains constant brightness. Meaning that they will not darken the batteries lose power, but remains consistently up near the end about the same brightness.
Here the lighting levels:
- 130 lumens, you need possibly the Spatzieren in the woods or if you have lost something in a meadow in the dark etc / runtime Ni-MH Battery 1 h 30 min or 56 min alkaline battery...
-. 55 lumens, good average brightness, this would be for me the default's nocturnal lighting the way home / runtime Ni-MH battery or alkaline battery 5h 3h.
- 8 lumens, the "sleep mode", very pleasant brightness to the evening in bed comfortably (and without thereby itself to dazzle, because may be too light), reading a book or power failure, long to have light all night without that you have to worry that a battery comes to an end / duration Ni-MH battery 40 hrs. or Alkaline battery 50 hours.
- SOS mode
Shortly what brand (Fenix):
For many years I have diverse Fenix flashlights to use. Including both large and small, and not a single lamp gave up her mind to this day. I've had it in all weather conditions really in use. Dahe I can recommend this Flashlight brand as completely reliable. Also, I had not yet been exchanged once a sealing ring, even if these are supplied with each Fenix.
However, as with any flashlight, can occur over the years even cause the lamps verdrecken inside something or silicone grease when greasing of the sealing ring (if you do at all the trouble) accidentally gets into the thread of the lamp and thus the contacts something be blocked. Someone who does not know this is, first of all think that the lamp is slowly broken or get a loose contact has etc.
If this is the case with you, I strongly recommend to take you by 10 minutes to clean the contacts and the thread of the lamp thoroughly with something Alkohl and some Q-tips, because then the lamp usually works perfectly again. So before you throw away the lamp disappointed or send a contribution of, just once try whether a solid basic cleaning helps, because in most cases it does.
What are you my opinion, however, should indeed beware, is to store normal batteries permanently in the LD09, because these (as in any other flashlight and) may leak and ye can actually ruin the battery acid, the lamp. So once again my recommendation: Think up to a few clever AA Eneloops or similar high-quality batteries for this light and you will long, long years a very reliable lamp with you, you can rely on in any weather always.
Strong buy recommendation!
