The ordering process went smoothly, delivery by the forwarding unfortunately less, since there were difficulties in appointment scheduling. Device has been but then delivered and the two gentlemen from the express were so friendly that device to be balanced also equal to the third floor at nearly 40 kg incl. Packaging, at least on its own, not an easy exercise, especially the box with quite luxuriant moderation comes up.
Who carries himself with the thought, to acquire The same device, do well in advance to take measurements, because the printer with quite stately moderation comes up. It should be noted that the rear housing a service door is located, which serves to eliminate a potential paper jams.
The case itself makes a solid and robust impression, the individual flaps (paper feed, toner access etc.) acting on the other hand more delicate and are designed neither for eternity even for a regular use.
Unpacked device without any significant problems, set up, equipped with toner cartridges, joined, started, the drivers from the CD is installed and the device in operation, ie printed. I can not remember, with the many printers that I had in the meantime, to have had no more problems during commissioning.
The printed Quick Start Guide (First Steps | Quick Installation Guide) performs simple and logical, after IKEA and Lego instructions principle, through the commissioning of the unit. Such instructions I would have wished for many other electronic devices, which are in my possession.
The toner cartridges are actually like all other printer manufacturers also to starter toner cartridges, ie with a low toner-filling. One should therefore deal with the issue in time toner-replacement (original or third-party), especially as the prices for this are not entirely irrelevant prices for original toner cartridges (TK-580x) are for Black at approximately +/- 50.00 (approximately 3,500 pages) and color toner (C, M, Y) per cartridge at approximately +/- 75.00 (approximately 2,800 pages). Toner cartridges from third-party suppliers are considerably cheaper, but this is infrequently reported quality problems, and failures of the printing unit, said to have been caused by toner cartridges from third-party suppliers.
The printed image on prints (SW | Color) convinced the speed of the printouts is adequate and the noise is surprisingly low, though clearly audible and perceptible.
The printer driver makes a clear and streamlined look. It's worth it to deal with the default settings and if necessary adapt it to your own requirements (expressed in color or black, duplex as standard: yes or no, etc.)
When you first install the unit was an unpleasant chemical smell (I do not here speak of fragrance) on its own, which flew by rather quickly. This is observable during the first printing, which is not unusual, however, for printers (laser as ink).
Photo prints left a decent impression when they do not come close to inkjet printers. Here I will however still testing various paper types. But in between the quick photo, the result is not yet all acceptable.
