I tested the unit with an iPad Air and Air 2 and can not understand the reviews partially. Tested with a Sony 55Zol Full HDI TV and an ASUS 24-inch monitor with 2560 * 1440 resolution. Furthermore, the nPlayer app and the LOVEFiLM Streaming Client. Movies all in Full HD with 5.1 sound track.
The play succeeds on both the Sony and on the computer monitor. Sound is also transmitted via the HDMI interface.
Both apps scale the image when played on the right screen size and show smooth films on the respective screen. The picture is not 100% perfect so there is definitely conversion losses, but really talk very under. To see the time on the iPad just a movie in the hotel rooms on the television or to show a PowerPoint presentation that is quite enough.
Maybe there are different reviews on the hardware used. With the Air models it goes anyway Prima.

For this reason, full 5 star does exactly what it should.
