It converts Digital whether DTS or DD into analog signals 5.1 5.1 signals to for example listen to the sound on one of the older systems like the devil CEM PE. The connectivity options are quite sufficient and that what can be heard behind comes out and makes the home theater to a real pleasure.
Those who expect more features that you expect from an A / V receiver should then rather well look in this division and thought nich this machine because it really is in principle only for the conversion.
Visually see the box from reasonably ok and by the auschaltbare display it remains relatively unobtrusive if you eg placed near the TV.
The menu navigation through the functions of the box is slightly out of hand and actually everything is relatively self-explanatory and if something does not understand sometimes you can see in the simple written and easy to understand manual. The remote control is not superimposed with pointless keys but has all the right to set all sorts etc.
One star deduction there from me because you prefer quiet three optical and just buy her a digit old entrance could the part and because an additional optical / digital output would not hurt either. So you could use the box as a distribution to multiple devices via a sound system issue that has only an optical / digital input. Also power supply switch would be very helpful, so you could also turn the unit off completely and not let you down in standby mode.
I have on the device now my TV (Samsung LE 32 B579), ne X-Box 360 and NEN Bluray player (Samsung BD-P1580) hang. All three devices only have an optical output so had the optical into digital signals between the TV and decoder NEN small box. Works flawlessly. At the exit plays said Teufel Concept E Magnum PE.
The decoder station, the CEM PE and Umwandlerbox of opt. to dig. are all plugged into ne Switched socket - either are anyway all in or all out. So there is no unnecessary power consumers when mans does not need.
