I bought this remote for my Nikon D3100, the description on the site amazon has marked that the remote works with D90 - D5100 - D3100 - D3200 - D5200 - D7000 - D7100. After receiving it (indeed, nothing to say, fast delivery and without problems), I sought the reason why it does not work, and simply, D3100 can not be used with the infrared remote control (see Product description Nikon website).
