Pro:
- Heat generation: The Kinter is completely embedded in insulating wool and is still barely warm even at high volumes.
- Sound: In battery mode, no audible noise, which results that I forget permanently turn off the box :)
- USB Slot: Reads Although only MP3s, but in any given bitrate (tested with 32, 64, 128, 192 and 320kbit / s), Mono, Stereo, VBR, CBR everything ok. Detection rate for USB sticks with me 100% so far. A tiny Intenso 8GB stick is always infected. Turning - running.
- An IR receiver diode is behind the small cutout on the front side. Supplied with a cable with a 2 IR receiver can be connected at the rear. Which you can then, depending on the point of use so that visual contact is positioned.
Neutral:
- Processing: does a pretty solid impression, the body is a single massive aluminum heatsink with front and rear screwed a plate. Unfortunately, the cut-outs are not quite there where pots and buttons are, but it is absolutely fine for the price.
- Input level: The specified up to 220mV. For full dowries but in my opinion much more is needed. Who wants to turn up and a cell phone, MP3 player etc. wants to use as a source, should purchase a preamplifier (or in my case, to build yourself) Commercial sound cards in PCs and notebooks deliver, but enough level.
- The connection with the music source runs over 2 RCA jacks. Since electrically compatible plug, extends a simple adapter cable. The rear jack is designed to connect the IR receiver.
Cons:
- In mains operation there especially during long audio cables strong 50Hz hum. However BYOB until an audio signal is present, then all noise-free.
- Radio reception not really need it, but because I always hear no radio there for no deduction.
- Reverse polarity of the 12V supply voltage once knallts noisy and the part is gone. Is in amplifiers although usual, the problem is that on the amplifier not specified the polarity exists. Fürgewöhnlich is + inside and - outside, so even with my, but I can not guarantee that this is at all (revision?) So. So be careful when you connect !!!
- The "EQ" button on the remote control. I do not know what to bring for the benefits, you never know where you are and prop. Sounds like the default also best at. Better not touch, and then use the knobs on the device. Ever me the purpose of most buttons is rather a mystery. The number keys and the "Return" arrow has no function, at least I can find no response.
- The volume control on the Poti and on the remote control come quite in the way. You have to turn up the volume to maximum volume to BOTH rauszukriegen. If, for example been set fairly quiet with the remote control, you can turn the potentiometer as long as you want, it is not loud. To adjust the volume should be set so to one of the options and the other always turn up completely. Technically it can be with a potentiometer but not solve better as a rotary pulse would have been attached instead of the volume pot.
Included with the amplifier, remote control with battery, IR receiver, connection cables for speaker chassis (about 50cm)
Delivery took about 1 week, wrapped in bubble wrap was there part and a brown envelope, the OVP cardboard box was not there, but the journey was even so survived.
