The story chronicles the youth and the creation of a legend, that of Druss, Running death and his deadly ax Snaga the sender, the blades without return, that will make Druss what it is.
The story is simple. From Druss 17 years that we remove his love, Rowenna and travel the world fighting in battles and war to war to find her, to Druss 45, who has built a legend and finding his seeking beloved and permanently seal the legend in a heroic defense of the pass Skeln.
In principle, we already know Druss, as we read Legend first. And what a pleasure to find him, assistant to the construction of what will be, shivering with pleasure every chapter, waiting for the next assault, the next eminently epic battle, shedding a new light on our hero.
And the book is slowing a bit. Battles, wars are no longer recounted in the menu, the story loses momentum and our interest fades. Certainly we are witnessing the construction of character in its strengths and weaknesses rare, but the epic ran out.
Is it better to surprise us in the last 30 pages, a tremendous power in a heroic defense of the one whose course the legends are made?
An effective style, stripped, an addictive read despite a big drop in pace in the middle of the novel. An honest distraction.
