Icelle precisely, failing to compete with the treasuries of the first four albums, believed exceeds 71 and 72 who had seen a Dutronc mainstream but also less inspired than here. Do not quite breaking partnership with Jacques Lanzmann, Dutronc, still reluctant to play pen, diversifying its sources recruiting Jean-Loup Dabadie for two titles and welcoming the return of Serge Gainsbourg (already author of She's So on Album of 72). It is also found there only interpreter, Gainsbourg (The Wilted Rose, the other three Serge texts are set to music by Jacques) as well as generic of the second series of Arsene Lupin (Gentleman Burglar) for which s' prove his last big hit before Merde In France (1984, which he even wrote the lyrics!) funny but not very shrewd. Overall, the album, rather cushy, is generally better written, more melodically inspired and more "fun" than believed and varied 71 and 72. And these are not the four bonus this successful vinyl replica (see tracklist ) that will prove the contrary, they are excellent and welcome!
It will take five years to return to the Dutronc song with just a folding seat for Lanzmann on a largely concocted Gainsbourg album with a rather disappointing album elsewhere. Meanwhile, fans will have had this soft bone to pick, it's still better than nothing. Recommended so.
