But the story is more tortuous and offers a complex staging, alternating the before and the after, which does not spoil the suspense. Mia is back to the fold. It is silent, in shock and amnesia. The work of the investigator is then to uncover the clues to trace the track of the young woman and disentangle this breathless intrigue. A hodgepodge that is reminiscent of the impact of the book by Lucy Christopher (Letter to my abductor).
The author skillfully play with our nerves by maintaining a formidable and poignant psychological thriller. It also feels closer to the characters through the story in three voices, that moves us forward in the story as if on eggs. Simple, yet mesmerizing. We meticulously reconstructs the puzzle, it smacks of manipulation, to shattering denouement, although somewhat expected.
A very good book, taking and scary, naturally rich in emotions.
