What in this game (albeit small) is criticized, is the too short Come main story. Sure, there are only four main temple to make before you can go to the boss itself more or less. The story is generally kept short and sweet, we finished the temple, rewind if necessary and may have to lower time to the next. The dungeon items from the second temple are really just extensions to the item of the First Temple, there are a large number of bottles ... the Itemfenster is thus pretty well filled.
BUT! Consider that Nintendo for the development of the entire game only had one and a half years time. After the rejection of a "second" Ocarina of Time, the developers have ventured to a new project, which is in my opinion, in such a small period of time an outstanding success. In addition builds Majora's Mask 3D on the numerous side quests. By focusing only on the story of missing out! Be it a couple of girls to show a dance or two lovers reunite ... In addition to the six bottles (in the remake it, I think even seven!) Must be collected, of course, 24 masks. Some, of course, you get story-wise, others you have to get through a longer or shorter quests. There are also not just mere accessories, many masks are very convenient! (Rabbit ears and Stonemask ... I want to have it only once said) and you have collected all the masks, first there is the ultimate reward. From the heart parts I garnicht times now catching on ... Psst, there is hell of a lot for collecting ... Alone for that you have to sacrifice a lot of time ... damn
Which brings us to the next important point: time. While you ride for hours in Ocarina of Time through the steppe, looking Skulltulas or could go fishing, there in Majora's Mask 3D a small hook. Namely the doomsday.
Three days in the game you have the time, in real time I think about an hour until the grim peep moon falls to the ground and destroyed everything. As you come happy times in time pressure. Fortunately, you have a good clear time frame where you can read the time and the day. The countdown on the night of the last day should even shake the biggest sleepyhead. Then first the ocarina is unsheathed, played the Song of Time and traveled back to the morning of the first day. Items such as arrows, bombs and Magic Beans will be lost, but this is definitely more realistic than to ocarinas times.
The quests are spread over the whole three days as individual appointments are hard to remember. This problem can be the most practical notebook of bombers (which now is even better than the original!), That individuals records and informs when and where you need to be. You can set an alarm even if you do not quite trust his internal clock.
For me, the time limit is a good idea, it restricts the player a maybe, there is also the feeling that they really do not have time, as it is in play now times. The eternal cycle of time, the endless loop, that one is, so to speak caught in time and it only ends when one acts ... It fits perfectly with the gloomy atmosphere to Majora's Mask and the way is a guide to one of the most famous theories on this game ;)
As early as 2000 had Majora's Mask for those times a damn good graphics. It has the same graphics used as Ocarina and this touched up and come out a little is a wonderful game with nice graphics, nice animations and gameplay liquid.
Meanwhile, a hyper-realistic graphics in games is (unfortunately) become standard, even though the (barely existing) story seems beside the point. Nintendo, known for its mega Stories, particularly in Zelda games, has remained true to its mission statement and waived it in a brilliant graphics. If itch? Neither Ocarina of Time 3D still Majora's Mask 3D can approach the graphics of games for PS3 or Xbox ... at least indicate the playing those games. One would have to get out of the 3DS even more ... Yes, maybe that's true. However, I do not know any person who is on the graphic of a Zelda game upset (Waker except on wind, but cel-shading is just a matter of taste ... I personally like it ...). It is important to Zelda flair. The magical atmosphere that surrounds one, once you Hyrule, or in this case, Termina, enters. Therefore, I find the new graphics of the 3D remakes of both games awesome and perfect! The attention to detail, numerous Eastereggs, radiant colors so that one immediately is hot-hearted and ta-daa - we have a perfect Zelda graphics.
Conclusion:
A grandiose remake of a grandiose game! A description of the soundtrack I let out once in a Zelda game is no need that anyway ... Many improvements that Nintendo has then perhaps no longer attempt it in the short time span. The controller ideal for the 3DS, the story though a bit short, yet epic and simply Zelda! To view graphic beautiful, fluid motion ... And some are Eastereggs uncover, so keep your eyes on!
For me as a great Zeldafan Majora's Mask 3D is a must, therefore recommended for old and new Zelda fans!
