Why only 4 stars then?
Because it still lacks many things and that the future is not guaranteed!
The panel interface is really beautiful, but there is still some "bug", probably related to the French translation of the interface. I met, mainly during setup, many screens, the text was not displayed in the round screen, rounded edges because the text was truncated. Nothing serious but disturbing.
The statistics are really beautiful but they are limited to 10 days, you can not go further back, we can not export very limited so no Big Data! Anyway Nest does not provide you its data, but I have no doubt that use them, do not forget that this company now owned by Google, fond of your personal data.
Similarly one can not "see" the statistics of one day until the next day. Unable afternoon to visualize what happened the morning for example.
A monthly report is sent by email, but this is much, much too brief. It has been 3 years since the Nest is available in the US and despite numerous requests from its American owners, Nest did absolutely nothing on this point.
Nest announced that they will support the Apple NEVER homekit, a "standard" proposed by Apple are manufacturer of connected objects to integrate them more easily with the iPhone and iPad. So no hope in that direction to see more advanced developments, including better management of history than Nes deign to provide with its application.
Companions applications are available on iOS, Android and KindleFire for other platforms (Blackberry, Windows Phone) will go through the website.
If you need to provide different temperatures depending on the area of your home, you will have as many as Nest areas to program.
Finally, a new EU regulation which will come into force in September 2015 will require the installation of boilers variables powers it already incorporate smart thermostats and above will, in principle, incompatible with the Nest ... so it could become obsolete at the next replacement of your boiler.
