POSITIVE:
+ GPS signal is always within max. found ten seconds (honestly it must be noted that the devices of Becker and TomTom but are quickly noticeably slower from Medion and Navigon).
+ The route guidance is dependent on time of day and day of the week, so that always the most optimal route is found, the individual user requirements (fastest, shortest, most economical route) are also taken into account.
+ In spontaneous route deviations done recalculating the route within a few seconds, with on meaningless statements such as "please, if possible contact" wide gehenst is omitted.
+ 4 map updates per year are free, but it really is just about the map updates (radar detectors, etc. have to be purchased every year, what this point into perspective ...)
+ The device has a lifetime (premium) traffic subscription that works surprisingly well.
+ Navi automatically remembers always the last parking lot, which can be useful in foreign cities, you can always make return via pedestrian navigation to the car.
+ In the previous navigation systems from Garmin Verkehrsfunkempänger was always integrated into the charger cable which this has thickened unnecessarily, while 55 LMT receiver is finally integrated into the device. This means that the cable is less thick and annoying.
NEUTRAL:
° Like all Garmin Navis has also the 55 LMT on 3D intersection and building views, but these are in my view not be displayed when you need to focus, but completely at random and unfortunately often then when they are not needed. Since this course is an individual feeling, I rate the 3D views neither positive nor negative.
° The battery lasts when fully charged for 2 hours navigation without electricity, this is not a mythical value in terms of pedestrian navigation and even close from not, but I know of no device in this price range that reaches or even surpasses this value.
° The display is easy to read and only in direct sunlight it is difficult to read and displayed easily.
NEGATIVE:
- It should be noted particularly negative, the real one is already at the junction, one lt display but still about 12 -. Must lay 30 meters to the fork back (This is probably a problem which all Garmin Navis inherent)
- The map display expected compared to the other common Navianbieter (TomTom, Becker, Medion) to very antiqiert.
- Another point of very negative falls but in the eye, but it is probably Garmintypisch, the Navi is that although calculated in some side streets a route, but only from the closest big road, then demanded, "You go to the highlighted route" to Then there to begin with the actual route guidance. Mind you, that system detects the car's location point exactly, but requires that you sometimes meanders without navigating through two or three side streets to then begin with 500 meters of the route guidance.
- The 55 LMT only has maps of 22 Central European countries (Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, and Andora), this sounds at first glance sufficiently at. However, missing maps for the following countries Great Britain, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Greece Finland which in my opinion would be quite reasonable because they are often visited.
- Unfortunately the Geschwidigkeitswarner does not have the possibility to set a tolerance but strikes when the limit is exceeded by 1 Höchstgeschwindikeit KMH why the kkustische warning is likely to be well-deactivated by virtually all users.
- Garmin states in the discussion to which a radar detector is possible, however, who believes that it is meant one could this just one or exhibit is on the wrong track, but this is again to buy once a year and that for each country individually, or . if he has already been bought for one country there is an extension to the rest of Europe as far as relevant data are available.
- The radar detector has unfortunately the same problem which also exists in the branches, so you have the "speed camera" already happening and according to DisplaySearch, he is still 30 meters. Of course this is not really a problem but you will already warned about 500 meters ahead.
- For a mid-range device seems to feel especially the hard plastic used to quite easily.
CONCLUSION:
The Garmin nüvi 55 LMT Premium Traffic is a recommended accessory for those that quickly and safely will reach their destination and may choose not to features like voice command, handsfree, Bluetooth, etc. or just as at home for the second car (being here with us the 65 LMT (which is identical to the 6-inch display with 55 LMT) which I have also ordered comes into play). Allen which the country coverage (as in the negative points) is not sufficient the 55 LMT, should a few euros (currently about 15) to invest more to 56 LMT access, which covers the whole of Europe.

ADDITIONAL
Review of Garmin Nuvi 65 LMT premium traffic, which I have also ordered and which is identical to the Garmin nüvi 55 LMT Premium traffic but differs in the following points from this:
+ The 65 LMT has the only known me Navi over a 6-inch screen. It speaks thus all of which the representation of a 5-inch screen is too small and cluttered, but which a 7 inch screen is too big and restricts the view from the windshield.
- In contrast to the 55 LMT but the battery of 65 LMT enough only for an hour without electricity connection, making for pedestrian navigation, with which to Gatmin also the Nüvi 65 LMT brags, unsuitable.
Since my screen size but is more important than the battery life I have decided not only to the 65 LMT in a second car but forgive also 4 instead of 3 stars for the 65 LMT.
