As usual with Tamron, optics is excellent, offering a very proper dive from 2.8 and truly amazing from 4. Stabilization, which may seem superfluous on these focal lengths, however, offers additional opportunities in some situations and fills rather its role (function can be disengaged if you are a bit short in batteries). The autofocus is good to very good, but we probably would have liked it to be more nervous; when in an ultrasonic version? The bokeh is nice but a little "hard", it is enough to know not to be tempted to abuse it. Few chromatic aberration and distortion at all focal lengths that are normal in this type of zoom (and correctable retrospectively, as required).
Note that there is a version without stabilization at the same manufacturer, which offers equally remarkable performance for a tighter budget. In both cases, the stone is for ASP sensors C (450/500 / 550D and 7D).
In short, an objective to do everything a little imposing but that will probably be constantly on your case, or at least within reach. An ideal choice for these focal demanding photographers.
