> Signal:
* Out of the box I have the software of Navis by "NAVIGON Fresh" updated, as it is advised in several reviews.
* Then directly into the car, receive GPS signal for about one minute before the holder stuck to the plate. This is easily adjusted, contrary to many reports and also stops at the previously defatted, a thousand times no streaks gerubbelter disc bombproof.
* The built-in (long) charging cable TCM antenna makes cable clutter unnecessary.
> Operation:
* Intuitive and intelligent operation (meaningless sequences of letters be darkened) takes place even without instructions easily. Only for route planning with individual stopovers an eye should squint to digital manual.
* For each menu item under "Settings" explained if necessary, an info button, what is at stake.
* Also during the tour can choose between 2D / 3D view and day / night mode geswitcht without the route is interrupted.
> On the road ...
My first test route ran by me, well known small town next to Dusseldorf, that was to be expected with solid navigation.
* The presentation of the orange route on a gray background with clearly structured road name displays was with a buying criterion.
While other manufacturers with pastel-colored - albeit modifiable - Ads (TomTom) and animated cars as position determiner (Garmin) allow safe navigation difficulties, this model impresses with clear, yet aesthetic color separation.
* As I was even once a narrow by most Navis - piloted walk, but the new route to the "wrong" turn was calculated faster than I could follow it on the screen - closed to cars. Respect, something I was not aware of (at least price) comparable devices.
Even after ten route changes, the new route is still super fast computed almost instantaneously (and displayed).
* The (non-alterable) friendly and clear female voice explains in time (ie with almost punctually accurate positioning) and logical next steps, so frantic thoughts and movements can be avoided. All steps ("In 200 meters, turn right") will be absolutely precise confirmed ("Now drive right.").
* The confirmation of the destination is very right in front of the desired house number.
* On the way home I chose the highway to try to "Reality View Pro".
The realistic representation of highway junctions and slip roads does help with orientation, but the respective display time is a little long, especially when several steps (Cross Exchange, then right exit) follow in quick succession. Furthermore, the question whether a but mostly very clearly designed exit must be represented graphically presents ... Nevertheless, a useful feature as it's only a support on the highway sovereign conducting and articulate (I drive a '92 Astra - - represents> according !!) voice.
* The indication of the speed limit agreed - when they came - with the real values match.
Unfortunately, the frequent to be found and ignored for local strangers easily overlooked 30-zone, even though they are at least 10 years signposted as such.
> Other
* The choice between "optimal", "Fastest" and "Shortest Route" succeeds very well as with most Navis. So a tour more than 16 kilometers of highway will be laid on the road, which although annoys the tank, but the eye is pleased.
* The built-in Picture Viewer is the only extra feature would even even dispensable. The mind remains closed to me, but who sees his mobile photos dear to 4.3 inches, which is hereby certainly happy. The colors are rendered genuine, and the menu (slideshow, etc.) is easy.
* Navigon provides 2 GB card (it has with maps about 1.6 GB). This is an advantage over the TomTom colleagues who have shrunk in their newer models overall Europe on 950 MB.
* The voucher subscription, with the period of 24 months instead of 99 updates only cost 19.99, may sound tempting, but is a first at the box office (Order Step 4 of 5) states that the payment is permitted by credit card.
> Conclusion
+ Very fast route calculation (also equally rapid recalculation)
+ Factual, but well-designed presentation of the route (ie the compulsory exercise of Navis)
+ Very human-sounding and not jerky voice
+ Precise and repetitive timely instructions
+ Intuitive operation in an attractive presentation
+ TCM receiver in charger cable
- The lock-offer is only by credit card to use (does not affect the device)
- In the scope of no power supply and no bag (like but with most other Navis also)
- Update commissioning seems necessary (but with really few clicks done)
- Navigon does not own update the maps on, only "Report Card Error" on the website.
The negative points to make the product as such no means bad, it should be noted at this point only that even "no navi is perfect" and always find something is to the one or the other consumer is not satisfied.
The successful exterior design with piano black I let the rating on the sidelines because the browsing experience is paramount.
The Navigon 2110 max is definitely the right choice in the price range under 300th
As only competitor I see the fresh TomTom XL Europe 31 to which unfortunately so far lacks Reviews.
Five stars because it's an almost perfect part for 235 and I'm happy with the negative aspects due to the considerable advantages over other devices to 100%.
Epilogue: Thank you for reading. I wish you a right for you decision :-)
