After that I have worked so far with the PureView 808, despite its other limitations on. The Symbian phone (Symbian is still not bad, at least in the Belle-version) has features that I now the Lumia 1020 miss: HDMI output, FM station (nice on vacation to car hire without jack input, replaceable battery - Battery empty , New ago !, expandability with 64 GB SDHC card). Therefore must I can (and also from two other reasons) the Lumia 1020 only awarded four stars.
Why now the Lumia 1020? I am an avid amateur SLR photographer who attaches importance to image quality and therefore usually photographed RAW. But I'm also comfortable. I do not always carry along the SLR at the weekend and in a device have the best picture quality. And since there is no choice! I am not a disciple of an OS, but I have two iPod touch in action. Functioning super, good apps, but not be equipped with the Windows Explorer (yes, usually I do all copy operations on the Explorer, never on the mobile device provided software), but only via iTunes. I have twice the music completely have to play with the operating system updates - annoying, I love the manual control, which I have since but with IOS not ... I have Android on a Samsung tablet. My impression? Pretty chaotic and confusing. But otherwise? I am glad that there is still running Flash on a mobile device (but already went with me in the current Android versions only with tricks). App selection is of course nice, but a lot I do not need ...
And Windows Phone I've now cleaned for three days on the Lumia 1020. Very and clearly - that's good, because the device is designed to save time and not cost. Many bugs from last year are now adjusted. But some Elemental still missing: Poor battery level indicator, a good summary of the connection options are there - as well as DLNA - just as have remote (but free) app. And the inseparable volume control for ringing and music is a joke, a Lautlosstellung is otherwise standard, but to reach only about switching off alarm or vibrate mode in the Settings - Hello Microsoft, ever heard of usability? The app offering has improved, what was important to me (stock prices, Bundesliga, shopping list, Skype) I got problems. The Search button is preset with bing - did I already exchanged for Google until I realized what it can: QR codes, barcodes, pictures and text directly translate and music recognition: After about 10 seconds the radio or TV, the track will be with Artist at Bing displays - great!
Everything is 100% liquid, the display is especially in bright sunlight top and to recognize outstanding - crucial to take pictures and movies without a viewfinder ... The resolution enough for me personally from full, I see no major differences on a Full HD screen. Impressive is the response of the touch screen - I have dry hands and on other devices often problematic - not (similar to the 920s, 808 is very problematic at this point). The speed and stability of surfing the Net is far better than that of my Android and iOS devices.
The navigation I have to mention. Nokia Here is now correct class and especially the live Sight has in the last 10 months really well developed by small improvements - a real help! And the Here-Maps: Offline navigation for free, really good cards, and transport, and, and. Many apps use this card - for example, shows the excellent Wikipedia app which entries are nearby - that must be awesome holiday - wiki as a Guide
Now the most important thing: the camera. No quantum leap for PureView 808, but overall for someone who does not want to edit a lot (I do not want the snapshot, but only in good SLR images), a real improvement. But you can see the pictures of the powerful post-processing. Overall, a bit sharper and colors more intense than in the 808. The key advantage is the OIS. I had now very well ironed out at dusk in 808 always Verwacklungsprobleme that are. And the lightning makes fewer red eyes as yet the 808th
The camera app Pro Cam is the interface for photos awesome. Everything was great right manually adjustable if you want them. The most important data are displayed - great to have a smooth touch 1. However, when I umstelle there on video, so I'm missing a lot: Where please the manual exposure control (eg for backlit) ??? That was at 808, no problem - please Nokia, necessarily make up for even more video settings when you were under Symbian ever further! Otherwise: The videos are better than from my SLR, absolutely serene image (OIS halt) and beautifully clear images. Not so noise like an SLR, but overall really good! Zooming works similar to the 808, full resolution is maintained, is only at the expense of light intensity (Attention noise in low light conditions). But: In the 808 I was only able to adjust on the touch screen, as far as I want to zoom and then only zoom automatically and super soft. During 1020s the Zoom responds immediately to my movements on the touch screen - and if I not fluent move the finger, you can see it when zooming - similar to an SLR with zoom lens.
What else? Oh, voice quality is good, battery life also OK, a day intensive use the battery lasts. About the external power supply can be the 1020 fast charging, I like that - but: Replaceable battery would be better ...
Conclusion: Would I buy again. Not because it is perfect but because it is currently the best tool for my usage. Note also that this is mainly the merit of Nokia (hardware + Design) and less by Microsoft with Windows Phone 8.
