I want to talk mainly 6 secondary characters:
Marlee has floated a mystery part as to his behavior in Volume 1. If we still do not know who is the lucky one of the selection, the mystery is solved Marlee. And I was not expecting it to that one! The Marlee party has brought a different romanticism from the one we are with America. My heart is cracked, but I liked the small presence of America's best friend.
The Queen Amberly's just lovely. More present than in Volume 1, it is refreshing, and I enjoyed the experience a bit more than in the previous volume. I hope that in the third book - which I would give you some news below - it will be even more present, and we will know a little better than what we already know.
Celeste, still spoiled rotten by his despicable behavior, I love to hate. This girl is a real shot at it alone. I regret that his behavior is a little too exaggerated. I secretly hope that the author will make a little more real, a little more human in the next volume.
Kriss is not very emphasized in the first volume. It's the opposite here, his place becomes increasingly important and is a serious competitor for America. His character is sincere and it is the most friendly and fraternal of all the girls of the Elite. So, she's not really detestable. It's almost frustrating x)
King Clarkson starred in a small part of the book. I can - to the limit, but really at the limit of the limit - to understand its behavior. After all, this is a King, who has a huge country to govern. But now, it is not a nice, what ... So I think the King will occupy a large part in the third and final volume, including that of a possible enemy of America.
Aspen, guard the room America, remains the first love of it. It's not a spoiler if I say that it is still in love with his beautiful, you guessed it - not true, right? It's not a spoiler, is not it ?? Aspen can be considered an essential part of the story. But not to me. To me, plot both standing would without the presence of Aspen. It's not a character that I am attached - well, qu'adorable.
The other girls in the Elite do not have a degree sufficient to have something to say about them, actually.
America is the narrator - of course. But I found that emotions and feelings are not developed enough. She's narrator, but "not revealed", or rather, the author does not reveals her feelings. Quickly raised, and sometimes overlooked, I have not been able to attach myself to her character as I was in Volume 1. America is sorely lacking confidence in her, is whimsical and very limited. It leads us quickly Jenny, then changes his mind, one stroke of one. So I more or less understand the behavior that has been rather disappointing * sniff *
I also sometimes found brainless.
Maxon therefore surprised me by his behavior, both in the good and in the bad. I could spread myself on what I disappointed him, and what satisfies me. But for those who read it: it has to do with Celeste, and Marlee, and protection leased girls of the Elite.
Their relationship, which started on a good basis, is not immune to the disease of Volume 2.
We learn a little about the Kingdom of Illéa on its foundation, its policy. This is a point that I wanted to know. I always find it interesting to know the policy of dystopia that I read, it allows me to understand a little better how it works, and I find them very exciting dystopias whole.
The end is a disappointing point that seemed predictable. A more spectacular end with declarations of love to make fade in William Shakespeare would have put a 4.5 / 5.
Despite the fact that the Elite is to me worse than the selection, and what a really great novel, which devours. It is literally impossible to let go, and just to know that volume 3 will be released in one year, I am tortured. I want more, I want more.
