The VGA port is unfortunately essential as use in the (at least in North Rhine-nestfälischen) education landscape most devices still this outdated standard. An HDMI connection implies an update guarantee and the projector supports HDCP copy protection that allows a connection to a Blu-Ray player.
I for half a year at least 1-2x use the device now, the week. It is quick to set up (using a small tripod on an OHP) and connected. Presentations or video files can be directly connected via USB.
Very handy here is: The unit will play without any problem the following (major) formats from:
PPT (PowerPoint)
PPTX
Doc
DocX
AVI
MP3
MP4
MKV
FLV (Youtube-Rips)
JPG
In fact, I've encountered so far on any format that does not play. Only for very large JPG files there are problems.
I would recommend this device without restriction. I use it not only in school, but also privately very happy. At school, the classroom should be a little darkened, but the projector is on well suited for shady areas.
Therefore, I forgive 5 of 5 stars.
