Positives:
+ Processing (despite "made in China") very well. Everything is very solid and processed accurately, it shows, for example, when pulling out the tripod legs or the adjustment of the ball head: Everything can be adjusted to smoothly and will not budge when it was found. So it must be!
+ The tripod stands firmly on the rubber studs and does not wobble despite the triple extension
+ By the four-time extension, the tripod can be put together relatively small, it is then only 46/41 cm long (with / without ball head), to compare Vanguard Abeo Pro without ball head 66 cm
+ The Fotopro is (without accessories) with 970 g quite easy (even easier, but more expensive, the 483/484 C Carbon models)
+ A practical and with 48 cm length highly compact and splash-resistant tripod bag with handle and removable shoulder strap is included
+ The Fotopro PGA 484 will have 2 to 5 kg payload. These figures are fairly imprecise, but my Pentax K20D she wears with all aufmontierten accessories like tele and flash (max. 1.9 kg) loose and stable, even in the field
+ The Fotopro can on DSL cameras based much of what afford the expensive Vanguards (see below for limitations). The head allows panoramic shots by panning 360 degrees (in the plane), with the removable ball head, the camera can be tilted 90 Grand downwards to eg objects on the ground (is Macrophoto minimum height at Fotopro 105 mm) to photograph three Levels allow precise adjustment
+ The tripod legs can be adjusted in two positions: about 45 degrees and about 22.5 degrees
+ Rollei has a 24-month replacement service
To bear in mind:
- The center column can not be adjusted as with the high-order Vanguards in all directions, sometimes may therefore the tripod legs for macro shots disturb
- The ball head can only support 360 degree panoramic images in the plane, but not in the bevel (because the head is swung below the ball head; where this limitation is not for me, because I've never used at the Vanguard)
- The Fotopro Tripod with max. 138 cm little less high (but in my opinion still sufficient) as eg Vanguard Abeo Pro with 160 cm or 165 cm with Alta Pro
- It can be mounted over to his feet no spikes, sand shoes or other attachments, if you want spikes, can on the PGA 484c (though more expensive) dodge
The hotel serves a tripod with a very favorable price-performance ratio. The biggest advantage for me the Rollei towards more expensive and of course a little more professional tripods like the Vanguard Pro is the fact that the Rollei's just much easier and less pushed together. Thus, the Rollei is better to carry and still has almost all the advantages of (expensive) competitors. Anyway, I'm very satisfied. For me, this 5 star is worth.
