The W705 is a Walkman phone the absolute top class. From design, through to technology, here everything is just right. Also regarding the operation stands by the W705 other Sony Ericsson phones in nothing, this is very simple. The menus and submenus are very logical and clearly.
Visually, the W705 is very, very noble. The snazzy slider phone boasts a brushed and perfectly processed aluminum finish (the phone is also available in pink and red). The 6.1 cm display is the stylish appearance on the icing on the cake. The back of the phone is made of hard rubber. Front and back of the phone are separated by a brass-colored frame. This slider phone looks very stable. That way, the slider function applies: The mobile phone is not rickety still shaky. It crunches and not creaks when pushed too.
The operation of the W705 should present no major problems Sony Ericsson connoisseurs. Here has not changed much since the K800i. That's a good thing, because so far were all Sony Ericsson mobile phones are distinguished by their their impeccable service. The menu is very clearly structured and explained virtually by itself. The menu navigation via the D-pad is very easy by hand. Since Sony Ericsson W705 which also donated some designs, you can watch the course or enable other nicely animated menu design. Very practical is the key activity ". Here you can often use applications store to grab here faster it can.
Only for some small buttons you need a bit of practice until you have SMS in so far usual speed, typed. This is followed but I have got used to very quickly. When K800i or the W910 the keys, however, are not much bigger. The pressure point of the hard rubber keys is again very good.
The voice quality of the W705 is really good. The sound is clear and not tinny. You can ask the other party quieter or louder than the side volume knob. Voice dialing is the W705 also on board. But if I have so far never been used.
Main selling point for me though was the outstanding quality of the W705 Walkman. As I am about 2 hours by public transport road every day, it is important for me that my music phone also offers a correspondingly good music quality. This is the W705 also perfect. The Walkman Player version 3.0 provides, in conjunction with my Sennheiser MD660 headphones (for this there's a separate review), a unique good and clear sound (though the supplied headset from Sony Ericsson also not much worse). The Walkman player features a 5-band graphic equalizer and a half-dozen preset sound settings. The addition in 3 stages separately controllable, bass reproduction is excellent. Operating the Walkman player is simple. The music quality through the internal phone speaker is also not bad and does not sound so quäkig as the W910 or K800i. In conjunction with a Bluetooth speaker box is the sound, like the headphones, first class. Here I can give you the Parrot Boombox recommend (there's also a separate review to).
The graphics performance of the 6.1 cm display is 1A. Whether own pictures or pictures, or the pre-installed pictures, screensavers or games ... everything is rendered with high resolution, high contrast and razor sharp on the screen.
However, the 3.2-megapixel camera is purely decorative. In daylight, the image quality is very good when it gets darker, the image is grobpixelig. The photo light helps also not great on. The video recording quality is very good. The sound is minimal although noisy, the picture is for very sharp and detailed.
Battery performance is also okay. For me, the battery keeps good three days (which you should not forget that I good six hours the Walkman player in operation have at this time, on the phone, use the WAP network and also been playing off and on). According to Sony, the talk time up to 10 hours and the standby time may be up to 400 hours.
Praiseworthy is the 4GB Micro Stick, which is included. Here you can, depending on the size and compression, storing up to 3,000 songs. The mobile phone has an additional internal memory of 120 MB. The internal memory is, however, already occupied by more than 30 MB (with various games, demo videos and various application programs. This can be deleted but partly). For delivery approach also has a good headset (with in-ear headphones in 3 different sizes), a USB cable and an installation software CD-ROM, for use with a PC.
Sony Ericsson has the phone also have donated some nice entertainment applications. They're not really exciting and no real reason to buy but a nice pastime. In addition to, deposited with music, animated slideshow (for data stored on the cell phone photos), there are some game demos, a music quiz (by the way is fun), a pedometer or a funny animated loose-Elvis, the web to your let zapplen playing music can. In addition, the mobile phone WAP, WiFi (mobile Internet) - and GPS capability.
Those who want a Walkman phone with excellent sound quality, is well advised with the W705. The mobile phone is available in many mobile electronic and audio magazines (including in the connect) winner. I would recommend the W705 without hesitation. From the Sony Ericsson phones that I had so far, this is the best so far.
