Excessive or surreal but very addictive ...

I discovered Karine Giebel with "Blood Dogs" black novel, short, simple and highly efficient style stripped but just terribly, so forward (especially after reading comments) that I immersed myself in his last "Murder for redemption" ... I have found with pleasure that hitting style from the first pages, describing the days of Gréville Marianne, a young life sentence rather turbulante ... The first pages are shocking, black, glaucous ... It almost smell the cells through the pages, disgusted by the cruelty of the prison world ... again Karine found Giebel - from the start - the right tone (but hard) .. .

The problem is that force escalation, style loses in strength and credibility! How to maintain the efficiency for 300 pages (time required to implement a relatively basic story but the complex feelings are built around scenes successively combining the different characters, somewhat theatrically matter) while more thought we were sent to the figure of the first? difficult ... and that is unfortunately missing in the case of this black novel ... Besides history, the likelihood still puzzled me, I attended a vain attempt to violence escalation. If I have been a customer at first, the banality of horror moved to replace, in my reading, normality ... What was the strength of "Blood Dogs" to describe the emergency side horror to denounce, is, first past the 150 pages, an irritating burden. Too bad because a more controlled growth of darkness and violence of the atmosphere would have been, I think, much more interesting ...

Added to this, some unlikely situations, even a few heavy redundancies, particularly in the turning points in history (the affection of some protagonists for Marianne, who still attempted to kill a few pages earlier), all seems relatively uninviting, yet !!! Despite these feelings, I read this novel at any speed, passion for the history, shortening my nights to learn a little more ... There is a suspense and tension that I can describe to you in this story causing you to let go despite his stylistic tape!
