Regularly the advantage E-M1 is reduced to E-M5 on the use of FT lenses, in fact, the E-M1 just about everything better than my E-M5.
The viewfinder is a stunner: Huge, bright, high-resolution, fast and a lot of information will be displayed. In every respect better than the E-M5.
Autofocus: Extremely fast, accurate and reliable as of the E-M5. Especially the last point has always bothered me to the E-M5: Often the focus was far from the target and has made everything possible sharp .. Furthermore, the C-AF mode or the tracking is far more reliable than the E-M5.
Operation and feel: A giant leap for E-M5. The buttons are on the E-M5 very soft and spongy. It was particularly annoying that I had to embrace above the screen when you operate the buttons and the dials were too small for my hands.
Quite different to the E-M1: The buttons a clean pressure point and the wheels I can perfectly use. Well done is the lever for changing the functions of the dials. Very good also the buttons next to the lens, I put on one of the buttons, the exposure preview.
Less good are the shoulder buttons to adjust the HDR and Burst mode in the E-M1. Unfortunately, I must embrace. However, the function can be set to one of the footnote, so no problem.
The biggest differences you notice, however, if you are the two OM-Ds next to each other and then take into their own hands. Through the well designed handle the E-M1 is not only far more comfortable to hold, with heavier lenses it shows that the E-M1 is thus better balanced and can also calm in the hand.
The other points are similar to the E-M5:
The picture quality is okay and is on APS-C level, but below the EOS 6D and by the higher depth of field is the worse possible exemption as to the EOS 6D. Although I also come here by the excellent 45mm Olympus to beautiful results.
A force is of course the 5-axis stability and the screen is also very fine resolution. The lens is very good and high quality processed, others have already omitted it.
In sum, my E-M1 like 5er far better than my (sold). However, the price is too high and I can understand, though many argue that they get a A7, EOS 6D or a 610er Nikon for the same money. Nevertheless: The E-M1 is fun.

Update December 2014:
After several months of use here are a few negative experiences:
1. Energy management: Battery performance is quite low. The original battery brings 250-300 shots. So always carry a spare battery, especially the display very much on "empty" bounces "full", so is somewhat inaccurate. Furthermore, I would like to see a finer classification for sleep mode.
2. Replacement batteries: I use batteries from other manufacturers. Here I had to realize that they are not loaded from the original Olympus charger. A little weak in my view.
3. Wireless: The application Olympus IO Share can only display JPEG photos or import to your smartphone. Again, this is pretty weak. And I wonder why this works for Canon and Olympus not: With my EOS 6D made Raws display of the Canon-app and can be easily imported as JPEG. A reasonable argument against Raws does not exist here, for me, this means first redundant data storage.
-> Of course, the points can fix relatively simple: take N + 1 batteries, use chargers from other manufacturers and store JPEG + RAW. However, there is in my view not an argument for these barriers.
And a couple of positive experience with the OM-D E-M1:
1. The viewfinder is great. At night, light and ghosting are hardly noticeable.
2. The autofocus is faster than that of my other DSLR when using Olympus lenses. The accuracy is excellent with OLY- lenses. However, this is not true with my 20mm lens to Panasonic, here's the thing rather average (but not bad).
3. WLAN setting: Button pressing, possibly QR-code, ready. No fumbling in the menu as to my EOS 6D or my ex-Nex. 6
4. Operation: Does first complicated and unintuitive, I got used to it and think it's good for me to be able to prove the buttons the way I want it.
5. Objective: The 12-40mm is fast and very sharp and it does not need in addition to my L lenses to hide. However, my guess is the 45mm f1.8. Quick, fine bokeh and very sharp.
