Apache (Paperback)

Customer Review

This war story translation is a masterstroke of Nimrod editions!

Recently, the same publisher had got us a beautiful story: "Fire Support in Afghanistan" Sergeant Paul "Bommer" Grahame JTAC (joint terminal attack controller - air support controller) who shows us the support missions soil from the ground precisely. And it was a ballet of combat aircraft and attack helicopters.

With the story of Ed Macy, he now we get into the American Apache attack helicopter in the hands of the British Army Air Corps. And it's really heavy ...

The story is really exceptional and comments from British newspapers are really justified:

The Guardian: "Books like this remind us that soldiers are really men apart".
The Times: "The Top Gun of the XXI century".

Ed Macy us to discover the killer machine, its seafarers and their training through the chapters that we communicate closely one of the most successful combat helicopters in the world, the adaptation of the original work (conflict Centre Europe) to asymmetric wars and demanding work asked the sailors on these devices, either physically or psychologically.

Then Ed Macy takes us in the missions he has accomplished in the 656th Squadron during his second "tour" of six months in Afghanistan. And that is really impressive from start to finish. Especially the last mission conducted under Taliban fire and Ed Macy earned the Military Cross for ... a feat of arms performed the ground!

To read without hesitation.

Nimrod with editions in November 2011; Interestingly, four cards in the text including two in double page. Not common in this type of work.
