This is a chapter from the book City of Quartz. The description of Los Angeles today is quite frightening. Ultra-Secure. Segregationist. Washed artificial construction of a whole story. A climate that makes any explosive sparks and plunged the city into a chain of more vicious. Los Angeles is a great example of what can be the ideal city of the richest perspective. A dream for some, a nightmare for others. But the most depressing in all this is how Paris is only following this ultra-capitalist drift under cover of a pseudo-social-eco-friendly policy. Like Los Angeles, a real centrifuge excludes what constituted the people of Paris. And if the borders of the capital stretched a little more, this phenomenon of "ghettoization" will be blatant. Liberalism, safe, the rest we will see. Paris will never LA but the capital will follow the progress of the world. Next to that for sure, the LA robotics Blade Runner, tall towers, flying cars piercing black backgrounds is a beautiful poetry.
