I have bought this Western Digital external hard drive using the built 1TB large SATA hard disk with standard 7200 U / min already and a half months ago and am completely satisfied with. Device is recognized when connected to a computer quickly and easily (Windows Me to Vista have built-in drivers). Device is very quiet thanks to the soft disk storage and the absence of internal fans. Data transfer is normal quickly when the device is connected to a USB 2.0 interface. So overall a good external disk solution for preserving not particularly critical data. The price-performance ratio in any case.
Among the few and not critical disadvantages include in my view the built-in standby function that occurs after about 5min rest of the equipment in place and making a renewed save operation after the break by restarting the plate takes a little longer and the FAT32 formatting of hard disk partition in delivered. This can be copied or saved to disk only files that are no larger than 2GB. FAT32 format is but necessary for operating systems like Windows 95, 98 and Me. On otherwise, if you have an NTFS-capable operating system such as NT4, 2000, XP or Vista, part of the media are reformatted with the NTFS file system immediately after the first time you connect to a PC. This saves an error message on the full disk. This error message occurs when copying such as ISO image files in the DVD-size (4.7 GB), even when the disk is empty on the FAT32 formatted disk.
