This is my first review ever, or I'll take no time. I bought the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX50V commercially because it was cheaper there due to an offer than on Amazon. Why am I writing this review, I have been annoyed about the negative reviews !! And I have to find a research-marathon behind me the perfect camera for me. I own an old SLR digital camera from Canon and Ricoh one that makes very good photos outdoors, but indoors not. Now we are celebrating this year a wedding in the circle and my granddaughter next year her Communion celebration. So I was looking for a new camera that makes beautiful photos on the excursions with the grandchildren and convinced their image quality for making my photo books. After testing and resending of 2 different cameras and lots of internet research (I was initially fixed at Canon and Panasonic, but not satisfied for different reasons) I get some advice from your dealer. The owner of the photo studio, the Sony CyberShot HX50V advised me that he had bought himself last year and was very pleased. That was of course a criterion! Nevertheless I took leave to travel first, and researched on the internet. The reviews on Amazon were very different, with various test portals has however performed very well. Then I looked on YouTube. There is a test of Ralfs Photo Bude, who has tested 5 travel cameras and the Sony lay in front. Also, I've looked at several there, turned with this camera videos and thought: Wow! The makes amazing videos. So why bother with video camera. The superzoom is fantastic. So my mind was made up and I bought the camera from your dealer. (By the way, I ordered the appropriate leather case from Sony at Amazon, it is great.) In my tests with the camera, I was just thrilled. When the digital zoom is turned off, they still zooms to 60 and the images are good. By connecting the digital zoom it comes to 120, but when you need it? This zoom range, it is better to put the camera on a tripod, otherwise you have to keep it very quiet at this madness-Zoom. In a dark room with the flash, the image is bright as day. A huge plus is the "Superior Auto". Me you can make very good photos in every situation and in various lighting conditions. The internal image processing saving indeed takes a brief moment, but worth it. For quick photos we have still the sport mode and many other scene programs. For professional and experienced amateur photographers, there are also still the manual settings. I use it only as a layman, the "P" program for SW or sepia photos. Special color settings, image effects, illustrations are possible and fun. In addition, the camera of course, WiFi and GPS. The establishment of the wireless network is easy. I would like to mention that a program called PlayMemories Home can be downloaded to the PC from Sony, the procedure is explained in the manual. This allows you to save photos / videos, edit, burn, ship, etc. This makes it very easy to put together different videos into one. The program also collects all existing photos from a PC under the respective date. It is therefore highly recommended. My Conclusion: The camera is awesome, making super great photos and videos, even with Zoom. I am very excited and can recommend it only. With this camera, you do definitely not bad buy and will long enjoy it!
