Previously, I had a really expensive Manfrotto carbon tripod, which still came to almost 2 kg ball head. In addition, it was too big to let it disappear in the backpack. So I came eventually to the idea to buy me this tripod. At first I was skeptical and actually reckoned with the fact that I had to send it back because it would not hold my camera. But I was pleasantly surprised. I use it with a 5D Mark III. Often I'm just with slight fixed focal lengths go if I make a tripod, for example when traveling. With a 24er, 50er or 85er fixed focal length, it was no problem at all with the tripod. But I've also tried it with the 24-70 2.8, which weighs about 900 g. Because the whole is something top-heavy. But even with that I was able to illuminate several minutes without shaking. With larger lenses, it is not reasonably possible to use the tripod. It is important that the lens does not bring too much overweight forward. Some restrictions apply, however. Recent excerpt of the center column I can not use, otherwise the tripod wobbles like a cow's tail. It's more likely for me no problem. Then I bend down a little. Or I put the tripod and especially not extracted from a wall or bench. I have mounted me down a bigger carabiner, so I can hang SIGG bottles. I have something to drink anyway usually there. So it is no more weight. A remote release or at least the self-timer is mandatory with the tripod. For shorter exposures I must also use the mirror lock, so that the mirror strike the lens is not too shocked. Overall, the tripod is therefore more suitable for planned photo tours suitable if you bring time. Practically, the incredibly small pack size. I can just disappear in the backpack tripod. The extracts run all clean. It is perfectly finished. The tripod legs are neither too stiff nor too loose. However, the quick-release plate is not for quick change. The assembly with the screw is fiddly and the onset on the tripod also takes longer than other quick-change devices, because you have to tighten the quick-release plate in the mounting plate with a screw. The ball head is smooth and can be very good terminals. So why five stars despite the limitations? Simply because the tripod is so incredibly small and light and without the restrictions mentioned were the small size and low weight of just not possible. Who can live with it, gets a great travel companion.
