"Mythodea" in my opinion is the best and most elaborate solo work outside VANGELIS` many good soundtracks. Together with symphony orchestra, large choir, professional vocal performances of singers Kathleen Battle and Jessye Norman, "Mythodea" represents a huge elaborated masterpiece. Although critics like the inconclusive language that is used in "Mythodea" be a small thorn in the side. But VANGELIS has this has often made, a language of inspiration out, so a specially devised language used. "Mythodea" is a mystical work and fit the NASA Mars, whose album is dedicated. One can especially imagine the climax of "Movement IX" as perhaps is one day the first man to set foot on Mars, the Greek god who always brought to humanity (according to the ancient Greeks) war. Also coming elements to the story of Ulysses (according Vangelis statement in internal CD booklet) across well. It is next to "Alexander" (OST, 2004) and "1492" (OST, 1992) a fantastic solo work. Other Recommendations: ANTARCTICA (OST, 1983) / 1492 (OST, 1992) / Alexander (OST, 2004) / MASK (1985) / Mythodea (DVD - Concert, 2002) / ODYSSEY (2003)
