At power (minimum), the green LED is feeble, and I do not steam. I wait 5 minutes, still nothing.
I decided to put it on medium power: still nothing.
Then at maximum power: steam !!! Yippee.
But my joy was short-lived: after 2 minutes, nothing more steam, LED off and a burning smell escapes ...
The unit has blown in 7min ...
Apparently I'm not the only one. I asked for a replacement immediately, I hope the next will work or it will refund to buy another device.
Otherwise electronic hygrometer seems to work well, and it is handy: 2 has magnets to put on the fridge, and a foot to prop him up on a shelf.

Following receipt of a first defective unit, I make a return against exchange at amazon. And within three days I returned the defective and received the new. As always, the service is super responsive Amazon! Thank you :)

I am very satisfied !!!
The device is silent, we can totally sleep with.
Some gurgling to max power but steam is sufficient for at least regulate our moisture.
The hygrometer provided is very convenient.
The humidifier is easy to maintain and handling: a child could use it safely!
A shame he was there against by a 2nd tank to maintain and that we should unplug the unit (or take a pan) to empty.
And as everyone has already said, the cable is very short ... you put an extension cord and the problem is solved!
To my mind, it lacks a timer / programmer to make it a perfect humidifier :) but hey, for that price, it's already very satisfying, and more is French !!! So I put a programmer on hold.
FYI, I use it with a few drops (up to 10 drops) of essential oils in power min. to clean and perfume my interior, and it nikel on.
