In this song, I do not really know how to judge it because it fits the music style not in my scheme (Hard Rock / Heavy Metal). Although I know Steve Aoki by a friend and it turned out a bit longer than that to Linkin Park joined forces with him for her new song, I was "A Light That Never Comes" with a certain skepticism. Fact: The song is a great catchy, the even me a toe-tapping with the foot elicits, although I did not hear such music. Ultimately, it's just a good mood song that invites to dance / singing along. A friend of mine was disappointed with this song because it "is not Linkin Park". So I ask myself, what to expect from the guys when they get involved already with Steve Aoki. Certainly not a song like "Behind Your Lies / Qwerty" or "Faint". The song is a party song in the current mainstream music style, no more and no less. But that would have to "feat. Steve Aoki" by the can already guess from the outset.
But what I still remains, is a kind of strange aftertaste, when I think about what were Linkin Park about 10 years ago for a great band and loose in the song more nu metal / rock elements with signature could. With "A Light That Never Comes" me a bit is very switched to electro and house. But the boys need to know yourself what is good for them. I'm curious to see how her Living Things remix album is. Conclusion: The song fits perfectly in any disco, for me a better song than the entire current summer hits, the clapping us the major mainstream radio stations, the last few weeks / months to the ears. Had the boys brought out the song in June, a good summer hit would once again came out.
