Goodbye Lullaby (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Even if the new Avril Lavigne-plate holds in hands and looking at the cover, it is noticeable that they are much more serious comes along than its predecessor. I can now say that the outward appearance and delivers what it promises. The first hearing impression is that the good Avril has become quite quiet. This plate is a large emphasis on acoustic guitars. I now again to the songs:
1. Blackstar
The song will be aware of the advertising of Avril's first perfume indeed most already. Very nice and relaxed arranged. The text is, if I'm not mistaken rather pointlessly. As an opener the song is very well chosen, if you look in my opinion, but also quite could have saved him.
2. What The Hell
The breakdown for this song is pretty crass. This song should be some already known since he was first single. This song is one of two, which may be called loud and fast, making it quite out of line. It captures the plastic pop beat very to the plate 'Bast Damn Thing' 'an album that could not convince me personally. However, the harmony and the melody in the chorus is just turned out great. All in all a good song musically. In the text you have to make now is not necessarily. I can not get anything to him.
3. Push
In this mid-tempo number I had for the first time the hope that the CD is different than its predecessor, because the most important role 'in addition to Avril's voice, of course,' playing an acoustic guitar. Beautiful melody, beautifully orchestrated. A look at the booklet reveals that the song by Avril and Evan Taubenfeld, her ex-guitarist from the beginning of time, which also a good friend of Avril and speculation about succession is not only her ex guitarist. This also sings in the bridge of the song, which very much of 'the good old days' recalls. The text is also really nice, even if he is quite right. A very nice number, maybe the strongest on the album.
4. Wish You Were Here
Very reduced this ballad song starts' with A-Git, piano and voice - and are to be in front of a beautiful song. After half a minute now is unfortunately a very on 'Best Damn Thing' reminiscent Drums, what very trendy if not can appear already hit by way of the song even. The negative highlight of the song is at 2:25 then a min: A hands-verse, which (at least me) is reminiscent of TicTacToe or Oli P.. The text, however, is appealing and also the melody is beautiful. The song loses unfortunately enormously by the drums.
5. Smile
Now comes the second song that comes in fast and loud robe. At the beginning makes an electric Git me stop earlier than followers Avril's works, but what more disappointed after 5 seconds more. There is again a plastic pop beat. Also lyrically one has immediately with the first line of the third album thinking ('you know that I'm a crazy b ** ch'). The chorus is designed musically quite nice, but this does not touch my judgment as the worst song on the album.
6. Stop standing there
After this slip it is far better continue with the first song on the disk that Avril wrote alone. A drum, which has remained largely untreated, an A-Git and Strings' more do not need it. The is quite nice 'no longer, but not less.
7. I Love You
Another song just as it did the fourth. This beat destroys much and can also appear very schlager like this song again. Mir is the text a bit too flat.
8. Everybody Hurts
Another song from Avril and Evan Taubenfeld. A song about the end of a relationship. The text is good. Finally a percussion that sounds like such a well. The strings in the background are beautifully arranged.
9. Not Enough
Again Avril and Evan. Another song about the end of a relationship 'but this time from the perspective of the final-making. Good text. I would describe it as rock ballad. Very nice arranged. Very beautiful song and one of the best on the album.
10. 4Real
Written and produced by Avril alone. Very calm and atmospheric song.
11. Darlin
Written by Avril, however, already when she was 14. I think you can hear that 'in the positive sense. Very beautiful song, not least convinced by the beautiful arrangement.
12. Remember When
Another one of Avril. An A-Git, A Piano and Strings' This is what Avril's voice frames until about 2:30 min. Even so beautifully 'Very beautiful melody and the text is really good. In then following use of drums, electric and bass guitar Git the song goes on full. Beautifully arranged. One of the best songs on the album.
13. Goodbye
The second song that Avril has written and produced alone. The focus is on piano and a cello, which are accompanied by an A-Git and other strings only. Very Impressive, quiet numbers. Also one of the most beautiful.
14. Alice (Hidden Track)
Alice is again one of the songs, which should already be known. Nice Song. Very gloomy atmosphere 'I really like. I find, however, that the song does not fit on the album and is also poorly classified. What I do not understand is the name hidden track. As it is hidden if it is already listed in the tracklist as such ?! He is not hidden.
15 to 17 Acoustic version of Song 2, 3 and 4
On the whole, very nice but a pity is that the vocal tracks' was adopted almost as 1to1 would you possibly want to resort to less processed and / or a single track. Especially this version of 'Wish You Were Here' is gaining tremendously since been dispensed with the drums.
18. Bad Reputation
The cover of the classic by Joan Jett. I as a friend of 'Let go' and 'Under My Skin' was very pleased to hear Avril's voice again between distorted e-Gits, but I have to say that that is not so well here. It looks a bit fake.

For DVD: It would be desirable a German subtitles, because certainly not all of the English are really powerful, even if Avril speaks very clear and understandable. All the material is beautiful 'especially the track-by-track comments by Avril.

Conclusion: This album is much quieter than I would have expected Avril, but is still definitely a huge step forward compared to the previous works. The album as a whole is very round and harmonious. It affects a whole lot more mature than 'Best Damn Thing'. It would, I think, be a good compromise for the fans, because both fans of the 'old' Avril, whose music sounds handmade, as well as for fans of the 'new' (or you have to say now second) Avril, the sounded more like a Teeniepopsängerin. Avril has evolved and redefined and this new style suits her very well. Recognizing necessary to notice that she was involved for this record more on songwriting than in all 3 albums before and that it has also produced two songs themselves for the first time.
