Once every year I came in the last five years with my "cheap printer ink cost" strategy to device and cartridges cost of about 100-150 and my last printer for a stupidly conducted firmware update after only 4 months of the favorable cartridges no longer realized I really wanted to even provided a printer with CISS system. At a cost of 100-150 turn for assembly and the associated loss of warranty, I decided against it and instead to test the Epson L355 Ecotank.
The advantages of the system were obvious: No own fumbling, two years extended warranty upon registration, sufficient high-quality ink for several years, and a mature, albeit older device with the most important features for me. The refill Epson with 70ml ink are also (still) get unbeatable low for 10 per color.
The disadvantages are also obvious: expensive! Who even tinkering much and knows what he is doing for the Ecotank with its high cost is a no-go. It also comes without a display and provides only existential functions. No fax, no bleed printing.
My conclusion after six months: the best device I have ever had! Completely hassle-free installation, detection and filling. Wifi works for the first time without any problems. The printer prints on plain paper without difficulty and with a nice color picture everything that I feed him. After several hundred pages, a low shrinkage can be seen only with the black color. I am after about 12 printers in 25 years for the first time completely satisfied with a device that simply does what it is: Print ... Print ... Print!
