We have always liked to eat grilled, my wife and I. But really fun grilling himself never made us. Therefore, we had our old (conventional) charcoal grill and eventually disposed of, because it is so rarely been used. The long wait until the thing entlich was hot enough and the large amount of charcoal that had notwending for our 2 sausages and 2 steaks, have we just annoyed. Added to this was that the old grill also was bulky and has consumed so much space in the garden shed.
So we tried it with a good electric grill. Yes ... that works. But it tastes just stop not for charcoal and is thus actually really pointless.
The inspiration ...
Then I saw by chance in TV a series "Rick the restorer". Rick has since brought an old grill from the 50s back into shape ... a with a fan, which has led to incandescence faster the charcoal. However, by manual operation ... with a crank.
But I thought right away that it was a brilliant principle and once got input relevant keywords on Amazon ... and lo and behold ... there is such a thing today, but with battery operation and is called:
LotusGrill ...
We have the grill now since the start of the barbecue season in 2013 - and I have never grilled as much as this year! It's just fun:
+ You need very little charcoal
+ The heating time is super short !!! I've never stopped, but there are really only a few minutes ... less than five in any case!
+ ... Thus we used the grill even when something unclear weather. If it rains just not ... a barbecue, food, grill purely wear, ready!
+ By the continuous regulation of the fan, the heat level can be set - awesome!
+ You can grill with your hands by wearing A to B, while the fact that coal is still glowing. He does not weigh much and is not hot on the outside!
+ The smaller grill area also means less cleaning effort
+ In the carrying bag of barbecue from dust is protected and does not take up much space
+ The workmanship is really appealing
+ You can buy more many parts of barbecue separately (eg the rust or the charcoal canister)
+ ... And the thing looks (in our case in tangerine orange) just great from :-)
We have been quite a bit "cooked through" ... sausages, chicken breast fillet, T-bone steak - everything great and very delicious!
The famous hair in the soup ... um ... on the grill ...
- The Lotus Grill is plenty expensive - here you pay not only the material, but also the idea ...
- For a family reunion he's definitely too small and does not burn long enough
Conclusion: Nice to sighted Designer barbecue with efficiently-clever additional function (= fan), which provides us a tremendous amount of fun. For the 2-person household the perfect charcoal grill. We have not regretted the purchase anyway - despite the high price!
