I bought the camera at ease because I was currently not rely on a particular brand.
For comparison were:
Canon 650D
Nikon D7000
Nikon D90 (price interesting)
Sony SLT-57
Pentax K-5
Pentax K-30
Nikon and Canon dropped out early due to lack of internal image stabilizer. Sony finally dropped out due to lack of splashing water and dust.
It then became the Pentax K-30 for newer technology and better image. The swabs in Aussstattung compared to K-5 are acceptable for me.
Clearly I would like to state here that the differences in the image compared are small, but even here the K-30 has cut off many tests as the test winner.
CNS build secure good cameras and I have all the above models held in the hand and Probephotgraphiert.
The Pentaxmodelle are but the best by far in his hand.
Only the Nikon D90 and Canon EOS 7D could keep up with the feel, but the latter was twice the cost and twice the size.
Now my subjective evaluation of the Pentax K-30:
Haptics
The camera is first-class workmanship and is compared to competing models of CNS significantly better in the haptics.
Features:
There is everything included you need to take pictures. Only the shoulder could be a bit better, but entsprich in quality etc. which the competition.
Battery:
Keeps in viewfinder mode without flash between 400-600 images depending on how much you do with the display.
The Noname spare batteries last far about 95% of the and appear to be identical.
Picture:
For this you can read a lot of different tests.
My subjective opinion: Excellent!
As an example I would like to mention the shooting of images in the cathedral in Siena, where in addition to a Canon 550D No images could manage and the owner drove almost to despair, while the Pentax K-30 pictures with 1/20 f / 3.5 ISO 1600 - ISO 3200 shot (can of course also the photographer are;)
The images ISO 3200 are very well used and the noise is hardly wahrnembar.
The results are fantastic!
AF:
Works very well and very fast!
Settings / functions:
The customer is king! Many functions, easy to find and an intuitive menu with help text.
Dust splash protection:
Works so far - in camera!
So far tested: rain, Nebelgischtischt the ocean surf, backpack in cycling, sand dust in the wind
The cleaning is relatively simple by Abdu.
No Corrosion.
Lens:
Good zoom range, the power from 110mm at the edge is easing, but better results than the 18-105 at a Nikon D90.
The lens is very well made. The weight is relatively high.
Conclusion:
In my opinion the best camera with APS-C sensor which there are currently on the market for this price.
At Canon comparable models from Canon EOS 7D or Nikon D700, however, are twice as expensive.
Sony would only splash protection are missing.
For the Body price of 730 there's nothing better!
Strong buy recommendation!
Recommended are the 35mm and 50mm further fixed focal lengths!

Addendum dated 03.04.2013:
After three weeks of continuous extreme conditions in China with temperatures from -10 to +30 degrees and humidity of 15% to 95%
Dust, water, transport loose in the backpack and smog and of course about 5000 images, the conclusion:
No loose parts, 1A function Beautiful pictures!
Especially the smaller size compared has proved highly successful. The transport in the backpack Jacket, Kecksen and drinking was not a problem!
Just perfect!
