Previously I had a quality parallelogram seatpost in use that are visually looked eating something with the suspension (the springs not straight down, but also to the rear wheel end toward back) but I could never really make friends.
The XLC Pro aluminum having an excellent workmanship, with less than 400 grams a true lightweight and uses a spring medium flexible plastic elastomer. As for possible wear or decreasing effectiveness in this respect, I can not give any information to a few weeks use.
And of course, the black part looks great. A reason to buy was, among other things, that this seatpost is to protect the suspension is not provided with such an ugly accordion sheath. Here does a discreet rubber sleeve between support and reliable reciprocating their work. The scale of the actual support is immensely helpful when setting the amount.
The spring travel is quite enough with a maximum of 40 millimeters, the hardness is set using an Allen key at the bottom of the column. After a few tries I've found for me the perfect setting: When putting on the saddle, the suspension is after all low, driving on the roads is then for pleasure.
Conclusion:
Outstanding comfort improvement while driving (to longer suspension seatposts also not there) and a great finish make the XLC Pro SP-505 to the price-performance tip for frequent travelers in the city.
