After I lost 2 Original Nikon lens cap (LC-CP26) for my P7700, I was the whole thing too expensive (about 20 Euro per cover) and I've bought this inexpensive part incl. Tether. It fits like a glove on the Nikon NC filter (40.5mm) and can thank me tether no longer be lost.
